You know, being a teenager is strange. One minute you can be laughing your head off with a friend, and the next minute you're crying because that friend is talking behind your back. You meet a guy, and you think he likes you just as much as you like him and you find out that he was just playing you. Your friends tell you that they'll be your friends forever, and the next day you guys aren't even talking anymore. You say that you're going work extra hard this year, to get the grades you want, go off into University and make your parents proud, but your grades begin to slip, and the days begin to get hard and lonely. You tell yourself that this year will be different, you're going to change but you realize you're in the same spot as last year. Your parents can never understand what you feel because they think you're too young to experience any sort of stress. Your best friend tells you that they love you, but their actions never proved much of their words. You begin to feel alone, sad, and isolated. You know for a fact that negativity brings nothing good in life, but how can you stay positive when the world seems to neglect you, and your friends and family begin to become so distant? Out of fear you begin to hide your emotions, knowing that no one can completely understand why you feel this way and how confused you are. So you start to put on a facade. Yes, life is great. Yes, smiling will get you through the day. Perhaps, talking about the things I like to others who feel the same way, maybe this will make me happy. But at the end of the day, all someone want is to love and to be loved. You don't have to be loved by many, just one. That one emotional love, that bond that can get you through anything and anywhere. Yeah, being a teenager is very peculiar.
